This Old Pattern

A Poem

--

Lonely nights. image by author.

Can I resist
A new project
A new venture
A boy
Who lost his father at a young age
Can I resist
A human
I believe I can fix
Can I resist
A new story
In my head
A new novel
A new romance
The intruigue
The exhileration
The
addiction
like pure heroine
I can no longer trick myself
These old patterns are playing out again
This is it.
I have spoken the words

I am undefeatable
I am set on my path

The same dance with my shadow has begun
Now is the test
To see if I really am who I say I’ve become.
