The Becoming

There is a fear in my head

That makes blood boil and bones shiver

Photo by Altinay Dinc on Unsplash

In the dead of night

I told it to leave

Yelling

Crucifying

Burning the remains

But you dwell within me

Still

Silent

Deadly

Waiting to strike…

Oh hunter

Merciless in the night

You were never kind

-But you never knew

You would bear such power

To the victim of your fate

To permit you to flow through veins

Constricting

Terrorizing

Agonizing…

Crying out in pain

To look you in your Devilish eye

with a smile-

To stand firm on the ground

To turn toward the path you have left and say-

“Only I remain”

-A warrior who has won the fight-

To become…

Undefeatable…

Oh, the beauty makes me shiver;

to be stripped of everything

To rise from the ashes

And become a god

I wrote this poem for the warriors who have fought, or who are currently fighting the monster of anxiety or fear. I have struggled with anxiety and debilitating panic in the past, and I am deeply inspired to connect with those warriors who are currently fighting. The light always wins. Peace, love, and POWER,

Saphya.
